Happy Halloween!

We had so much fun dressing Miller up for his first Halloween! On Friday night, we went to a party at Dream Ranch. We found the cutest monkey costume for Miller so Bryant and I decided to be Tarzan and Jane to go along with him. It was so much fun to see all of the creative ideas people had for costumes and to hang out with friends! On Halloween, we stayed home but sadly, we had NO trick-or-treaters!!! Oh well, more candy for us!

I was a sleepy monkey!!!
Miller and Turner
Turner lives up the street from us and is about three weeks younger than Miller. Miller looks like a linebacker next to him! Do you think he gets enough to eat?
Miller and "Popeye"
Evelyn, Campbell, and Miller (Campbell was such a big girl holding Miller!)
We finally caught that precious smile on camera!!! He has the cutest laugh to go along with it now!

Miller's First Trip to Tuscaloosa

This post comes a little late, but we took Miller for his first trip to Tuscaloosa back in September. Miller stayed home with Nana, Bryant's mom, so that Bryant and I could go to the Alabama-Arkansas game. For those of you wondering, I will remain an Auburn fan but have conceded that Bryant can have Miller :)

Girls' Night!

Friday night my group of college friends got together for a casual "baby shower" for Kendall. Kendall is expecting twin boys in February and we're so excited for them! Hunter and Hays (the twins) will be in the same grade as Miller and will live just a few minutes from us. Needless t0 say, Miller can't wait to play with them (okay, maybe the mommies are looking forward to those play-dates more than they are at this point). We all met at Cheesecake Factory in Birmingham and ate ourselves sick! It was so much fun to see everyone and I was reminded of how extremely blessed I am to have such wonderful friends!

John 3:16

So how many times have I heard, recited, or read this verse in my life? Probably a million. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Sadly, since this verse has become so "common" I seem to forget how awesome it really is. Miller has truly brought back the power of this verse in my life. I love Miller in a way that I never imagined I could and the thought of giving him up seems impossible. And imagining giving him up to people I know will hurt, ridicule, and kill him - no way. But the truth of the matter is that although the Lord loved his son this much too, he loved me enough to actually give him up. Wow. Let that sink in for a minute. I will never again rush through this verse without stopping to thank the Lord. I hope you understand how much the Lord loves you too and that you'll do the same.

Pediatrician

I took Miller to the Pediatrician on Monday for his two month check-up. He now weighs 12 pounds and is 22 1/2 inches long. He is growing so fast! He had to get three vaccination shots and it was so pitiful! He was just looking at me while he was screaming as if to say, "Mom!! What are you doing?!?! Help me!" We did lots of cuddling after that :)

Also, I am so excited to say that he has "sort of" slept through the night the past two nights. I say "sort of" because I did give him a paci in the middle of the night both nights, but then he went right back to sleep. I am knocking on wood that he will continue in this fashion! It's amazing what a difference in makes in how I feel!

Two Months

Miller is officially two months old as of yesterday! He is becoming much more "vocal" and we love hearing all of the new sounds he is making. Also, he has started smiling which is just so amazing! Here is a picture of him from today and from him at one month:

This is the only picture we've been able to get of him really smiling. It's not the best picture but I was so excited to finally catch it!!
On another note, we took Miller for his first trip to Tuscaloosa last week. Margaret (Bryant's mom) kept Miller for us so we could go to the game. Miller had so much fun visiting his Nana, Papa Frank, and Aunt Kate!
