First Day of Preschool

Jacob and Miller started back to preschool today!  We are so excited that we now have a half-day preschool at our home church and couldn't be more thrilled with it!  The boys both had a fun first day and we are looking forward to a great year.  Today was bittersweet for me in realizing that next year Miller will be starting kindergarten.  With his late birthday I was able to sneak in one more year of preschool though and for that I am so I am thankful!  Miller was excited to start his new school and asked me every morning for about a week if it was a school day yet.

Jacob was excited too and couldn't wait to wear his "pack pack"!

Miller was excited, but shy at first with Miss Michele.
Jacob got a little clingy when we walked in, but he was just fine by the time I left!
He had a familiar face with Miss Faith since she babysits a lot for us so that helped!
His teacher, Miss Morgan, sent me a picture later in the day when he had warmed up a little more.

We are so, so thankful that the Lord has provided this program at our church and for our community!  The boys both had a great time and Miller already asked if he gets to go back tomorrow :)  They are both going three mornings a week which we've found to be a really good balance for our family.  We're excited for a great year!

Miller's 5th Birthday!

Miller's birthday fell on a Saturday so it was really fun to have his party on his actual birthday!  We had a quick birthday breakfast of "hot dog biscuits" as he calls them {better known as pigs in a blanket} and let him open a couple of presents so that we had time to prep for his party at 10:00!

Poppy and Cissy arrived a few minutes early to give both boys a gift!

Miller was so excited when his friends starting arriving!
He had all things water at his party.  A water-slide, water balloons, water guns, and a baby pool.  The weather was perfect for it!

 Miller's ice cream sandwich cake!

Reminding me how old he is!

Jacob's version of a "cannonball".  He will yell, "Paw Paw!" before he jumps off of just about anything.  Adorable and dangerous all at once.

It was such a fun birthday and it's hard for me to believe that Miller is 5!!  We'll be waiting a year before he starts kindergarten, but his birthday hit me kind of hard this year.  We are thankful he had a healthy checkup and came in at 42" tall and 42 lbs.  He got his staple out at that appointment and also got three vaccination shots.  He was not a happy camper, but after a milkshake and trip to the park he was over it.  Happy birthday to my sweet, cuddly, rambunctious, TALKATIVE, sometimes grouchy, always inquisitive, dare-devil, FIVE year old boy!  I love you, I love you, I love you!
